Why is the Flare coal basket made of cast iron?
Due to its material properties, it is virtually indestructible. The coated cast iron protects it from corrosion, retains heat excellently, and distributes it evenly throughout the entire basket. The ignited coals can therefore burn evenly and efficiently. Another factor that speaks for the material is the Flare's high weight. We designed it with an extremely low center of gravity, making it highly stable and resistant to tipping over. This means that even if you accidentally knock it over, it will automatically right itself, and the coals are likely to remain in the basket.
